That fucking shot from Antonio on his left. What do you think goes through his tiny brain when he gets into positions like that?

Yeah good to see him get some form back 2 goals would have added to his confidence

Antonio should start. He’s back to his old ways. A rampaging bull.

As proven last night he can be a game changer.

His best assets at getting goals are in the box getting his nut on the end of crosses.

Definitely worth keeping around the squad.

It made me laugh actually when Antoino broke into the box and shot was 8 rows above the corner flag

Antonio is definitely not a Pellegrini player in terms of technical ability but I’m sure he can see the carnage he causes with the ball at his feet when fit, I expect him to be a regular fitness provided from now on in.

We seem to have found the old Antonio. Lacks quality and vision for the most part but a handful and causes problems with direct running and taking people on - something a lot of players no longer do.
I wrote him off but I think his recent form, workrate and versatility may keep him in the picture.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
One thing I've noticed this season is our ability to get back in the game from a goal or two down, we were unlucky not to win last night but we do start rather slowly in games.

Do agree MP is tinkering with the forward line, a striker is a must in Jan IMO.

I'd like to see Nasri played where Anderson is now, and Anderson just off Arnautovic , but that would mean ditching the traditional 4-4-2.

Antonio is starting to get his arse into gear, glimpses over the last few games he's starting to buy into MP and his form is definitely picking up.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
I think that’s what training is for?
Dreadful line up from the off, even worse first
Sub but did redeem himself with Noble and Antonio.
He does seem hell bent on squeezing players into his favoured 4-4-2 despite not having the personnel to play this way.

Maybe Pellegrini is using these last few games to experiment, playing Perez and Carroll from the start and the bench.Trying to find out if either of them are an option going forward. With the 4 wins behind us he was able to do this. Now surely he knows what he has.
Perez is not an option from either the bench or a start.Carroll only from the bench.
Subbing Carroll for Perez and visa versa has shown his thinking surely?
With Nasri's arrival he can now play him or Anderson behind Arnautovic with Antonio another option. He can now put Silva into that equation too if he gets a run out against Birmingham .

I do hope he has done this and doesn't think that Perez or Carroll are worth a shot

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread FT 2-2
We don’t have too many options, but given our injury problems it would seem like 4-5-1 would be a better option - but Pellegrini is looking to build an effective system for the long term. As long as we pick up enough points to survive and he gets to build further in the summer then I don’t mind him doing so.

Carroll should never had started absolute joke. Perez just stood watching their second. Need to get rid of both.

Antonio was excellent just needs to work on his finishing.

Respect the point after being 2 down, especially only playing with 10 men.

I think we need to be realistic for the remaining 5 months. Top 8 target and a cup run would be good, and get back some of the walking wounded for next season.

Was a decent atmos over there with Brighton in good voice.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread
Officiating was god awful. GOD awful.

We only turned up for 10 minutes of the game and scored twice. That aside we were complete garbage, to a man. I don’t see the point in Perez at all, and was very disappointed Nasri didn’t get a run out.

Brighton are a proper shitheap team though. 10 behind the ball, foulers. They did attack effectively and they had the best away support I’ve seen/heard this season.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread
Relax.

That injury list
A load of broken players from previous years
Pellegrini instilling a new way and working out where the squad needs changing
This year we'll be comfortably mid table playing nice football

Next year we'll be incredible.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread
Extremely poor first half but at least we battled and got a point. As much as I like Pell I am baffled with his 442. You can get away with 442 if you have a Kante in midfield but not with our midfielders. Arnie up front on his own with 5 in midfield with runners surely is our best set up especially as Perez and Carroll offer nothing.

I don' know what constitutes a penalty.

a) If you don't go down you don't get a penalty.
b) If you do go down you may not get a penalty.
c) If you dive you may get a penalty.
d) If you dive you may get a yellow card.
e) If you dive, nothing may happen.
f) If you are fouled you may get a penalty.
g) If you are fouled you may not.
h) Any other offers?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread
We are where we are. We ain’t going down.(Even with some of the cart horses on the wage bill.) And we are light years away from getting near the top six. What we need and most of us know. Is constant investment. Hopefully Pellegrini has already told the SPIVS this. Weather they take this on board is another matter.?
We always going take a couple of real beatings over the course of a season. With the added bonus of a couple of gash performance thrown in for good measure. But overall we playing better football than we have since G&S have ruled the roost. (The Payet season was an anomaly. Like Leicester winning the title.) And we now have a top class manager who understand the traditions and beliefs of the fans. But he can not make a silk purse. Not while he’s only option is to play players who are past there prime. Or in some cases. Never had a prime.!
Either way I’m going to enjoy the rest of the season. Safe in the knowledge we ain’t going to be in a dog fight for survival. But hoping we move forward in summer. Where it really matters.
COYI.
